GMS - Summer and Autumn Events

The British summer may not always deliver us the weather we expect, but while we look forward to more sunny days (especially on holiday) over the weeks ahead, why not take a moment to reserve your place on two upcoming events with the Guild over the next few months:

Saturday 22 August at 11am 

Brooklands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0SL

We visit one of the famous collections of British motor racing and aviation history. Starting at 11am, an exclusive guided tour will see us discover the legends of land and air who raced and flew at Brooklands. We will then have further time to explore the museum at our leisure, before enjoying lunch at the Sunbeam Cafe on site. The organised part of the day will end after lunch, but there will be plenty of opportunity to explore more of the plethora of cars, planes and motorbikes, as well as to purchase souvenirs.

Sheep Drive

Sunday 28 September at 1pm 

Southwark Bridge, London

£70 per person

Only a few places remain for this much-anticipated event. 

Join us for a celebration of one of the most remarkable and eye-catching traditions in the City of London - the ancient right of Freemen to herd sheep into the City of London. All those with the Freedom of the City are invited to take part in this unique and fun day out. 

Those who have booked in with us are permitted and encouraged to bring guests to support them. Friends and family members will be able to view the driving of the sheep from an adjoining section of Southwark Bridge and cheer on those taking part.

The start time reflects that two sheep drives will take place consecutively at 1:44pm and 1:51pm on the day, with participants required to assemble at the designated waiting point approximately 30 minutes beforehand. Further details on timings will follow closer to the date.

The adjoining Livery Fair offers the chance to obtain a souvenir of the day, including crafts made by specialist wool and textile artisans.
